Veterans Pathway Housing Program (VPHP)

Guiding veterans from housing instability to long-term independence through safe housing and personalized support.

Program Overview

The Veterans Pathway Housing Program (VPHP) is a transitional housing and supportive services program designed to help veterans move from housing instability to long-term independence. VPHP combines safe, stable housing with individualized case management and veteran-focused resources so participants can rebuild stability, address the challenges that contributed to their housing crisis, and ultimately establish a new “Home of Record.”

How the Program Works

VPHP is a structured 6-month program. During this time, participating veterans contribute $500 per month in rent and $100 per month toward utilities while engaging in HRP’s tailored programming and support services.

What Veterans Receive

VPHP is built to tackle the real-world barriers that often drive or prolong homelessness. Services and support may include:

Upon successful completion of the program, veterans may receive their contributed rent back as a one-time housing grant to help with housing-related costs such as first month’s rent, security deposits, or other move-in expenses. This feature is designed to reduce the financial hurdles that often prevent veterans from securing stable housing after transitional programs.

Why It Works

VPHP goes beyond temporary shelter by addressing root causes, strengthening life stability, and supporting veterans as they take ownership of their path forward. The program reduces repeat homelessness and helps participants transition into stable, permanent housing with the tools to succeed. Below are the key components that make VPHP effective:

Program Approach

VPHP focuses on long-term outcomes, providing individualized case management, wrap-around support, and resources tailored to each veteran’s unique needs.

Safe, temporary housing designed to relieve immediate stress while participants work on stability, skills, and long-term goals.

Dedicated units for male veterans, combining housing with ongoing support services to ensure sustainable independence.

Units for families and female veterans, providing safe housing alongside access to childcare, family support, and wellness services.

VPHP operates in Mesa, Arizona, across 6 buildings with 16 total units, organized into Zones A, B, and C to maximize support and community engagement.
